More and more countries are opening their borders to foreign tourists, but there are still restrictions to follow. As with visas, each country has its own entry policy, travelers should inform themselves about COVID-19 entry restrictions, testing requirements and quarantine protocols before leaving.
Here are two sites where you can check the restrictions in effect. These sites are updated regularly with an interactive map.
The first site to go is the IATA (International Air Transport Association). This site as the most accurate source available based on a comprehensive database, used by virtually all airlines and information gathered from more than 1,600 official sources around the world, such as immigration and police authorities.

Another site made in Canada with frequent updates is Sherpa, available in several languages, including French. The site also offers an interactive map where you can view the latest guidelines on restrictions for each country from a particular country. There is also an option for countries that accept fully vaccinated people without restrictions.
According to the Sherpa site, on June 25, 2021, 5 countries accept Canadian tourists without constraints (no test and no mandatory quarantine required):
- Mexico
- Costa Rica
- Colombia
- Albania
- Romania

Keep in mind that restrictions can change at any time, like Canada recently announced some border easing.
